The BJP leader, after addressing a meeting to counter the views of the opposition leaders on CAA, spoke to reporters along with former union minister Pon Radhakrishnan.

“The protesters endangered public life and the police had no other go,” Raja told reporters when asked about the police firing. Responding to another query on actor Rajinikanth receiving criticism for expressing his views on CAA protests, Raja said that the opposition parties were playing politics. The superstar has only advocated peaceful agitations; this is misread by the Opposition. Raja also urged the students to be cautious with the DMK’s campaign against BJP and requested the students to stay away from the rally announced by the Opposition on December 23.

The national party would take forward the campaign to expose DMK and the Congress. The BJP is the only party that can give development and protection for both the majority and minorities in this country, BJP leader Pon Radhakrishnan said.

The BJP leaders condemned the Congress, DMK and the VCK for protesting the CAA, which according to the BJP is aimed to help the refugees on the basis of their religion.
