What started as an innocuous conversation between Loganathan and village panchayat party secretary Sekar, over the latter not receiving his commission for a Rs 5 lakh compound wall work, soon escalated into an expletive laden verbal duel between both. It turned out to be an embarrassment, as it went viral on social media recently.

The DMK, reacting to the revelation, went on an attack mode with a cadre calling on partymen to fight the menace of indiscriminate sand quarrying by AIADMK functionaries.

That the entire conversation was premeditated is seen from the fact that the clip starts with the MLA’s phone ringing. When Loganathan answered, Sekar complained that he did not receive his commission for work as it was not given by another lower level functionary Murali.

The MLA then informed Sekar that it is only in KV Kuppam of all the 234 Assembly segments where percentage was paid to lower level party functionaries.

Loganathan reiterated it and asked Sekar to talk to Murali. In a second conversation, Sekar informed Loganathan that he did not complain about Murali which was then Loganathan spoke about lack of unity among ruling partymen and added that it was because Sekar complained to officials about Murali lifting sand that the latter was angry with him.

Sekar retorted by saying that his complaint was general in nature and not specifically about Murali. Loganathan then added that even his name was dragged in this issue. Sekar said people were talking about the MLA lifting sand illegally and that the complaint was due to residents’ inability to sleep at night due to this.

For it, “If you want to complain, do so about DMK men; counter then; if you continue to point fingers at AIADMK cadre then how will you win any position in the ensuing local body polls,” said Loganathan.

This upload was soon followed by another by a person named LGM Pathy who called on Loganathan to act as he had not done so despite repeated complaints.

He added that the tahsildar had informed him of the MLA’s involvement and added, “I have phone conversation records to prove it.”
