“Central government selecting Tamil Nadu as the best state for delivering governance is the best joke of the year. Let 2019 end with this joke,” said Dhinakaran, in a tweet.
The tweet came as a response to the government which is celebrating the first place obtained by the state in the report rolled out by the Centre for Good Governance, attached to Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances. Minister for Personnel and Administrative Reforms D Jayakumar who gave a detailed explanation on the report accused the opposition parties of still complaining about the government.
However, both state government and Jayakumar were not spared by the opposition parties. After the report was termed a joke, DMK called Jayakumar a comedian. “There are many roles for people in a movie and comedian is one such role. In the government Jayakumar is the comedian,” said former Minister EV Velu.
Replying to the tweet of Dhinakaran, Jayakumar said “People like Dhinakaran who make fun of the report that was carried out in a transparent manner are the real jokers. Tamil Nadu has overtaken some of the larger states like Gujarat from which Prime Minister Narendra Modi hails and is one of the outstanding performers.”
He further said that Dhinakaran had lost his relevance and the AIADMK is not worried about the comments made by him.
Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam said, “Tamil Nadu is the best state and is delivering one of the best services in the country. Centre has reassured the fact once again by rolling out the report.”
