2 J and K men let off after inquiry in Keelakarai
Anxious moments prevailed in Ramanathapuram after two men from Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday were intercepted and questioned over their purpose of visit to the coastal district. When contacted, SP Varun Kumar said the duo were civilians from the border Union Territory.

Keelakarai DSP Murugesan said the duo, identified as Imran Habib and Shahzad Ahmed, were from Baramulla city in Kashmir and had come to Keelakarai to raise funds for a madrasa. They were carrying voter, Aadhaar cards and other documents. It was also found that the madrasa they represented was a recognised one and both had obtained NOC from the J&K police to visit Ramnad. According to Inspector K Pichaimani, the duo were inquired by RAW and IB and were found to be genuine visitors.
