Kanimozhi moves court against another plea
Close on the heels of the Supreme Court staying the proceedings initiated in the Madras High Court, challenging the election of DMK MP Kanimozhi from Thoothukudi constituency for allegedly failing to show the I-T details of her husband, another plea has been moved in the high court seeking to reject another similar plea pending against her.

While the Supreme Court had stayed the plea moved by Santhanakumar, a voter from the constituency, the present plea has been moved challenging the order of a single judge allowing a voter Muthuramalingam to substitute former Tamil Nadu BJP president Tamilisai Soundararajan, who had withdrawn her challenge following her appointment as the Governor of Telangana.
Muthramalingam’s plea was also on similar lines as moved by a voter A Santhana Kumar (stayed by the Supreme Court) that Kanimozhi willfully failed to disclose her husband’s income in the nomination filed for contesting the 2019 Lok Sabha election from Tuticorin.
