Meanwhile, the Lt Governor in a WhatsApp post wondered whether she is facing protest apparently for ensuring financial prudence, seeking information on sustainability of projects, ensuring poor people money goes straight to them and ensuring all public officials observe the due process of clearing projects by ensuring that these meet the audit requirements among others.
She said some officers were wrongly punished and even lost their job, the Lt Governor’s office had to undo injustice done to the lowest ranks posted in Yanam. Yanam need not have been an aspirational (weak in development) region. “It could have been developed had it not been in the clutches of some vested interests in the past,” she added.
The visit of Team Raj Nivas and senior officers are to connect people with the administration without fear or favour and to give people a voice which is heard and not stifled, she said. The Lt Governor also said that the grievance redressal system have already been put in place and complaints could be registered on 1031 and 100 for follow up action. “This empowers people,” she added.
