Edappadi Palaniswami inaugurates SCF cricket ground in Salem

The ground was built on behalf of Salem Cricket Foundation. The inauguration ceremony which took place at 9 am today was graced by presence of CM Edappadi Palaniswami.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami on Sunday inaugurated the Salem Cricket Foundation (SCF) cricket ground in Valapadi, Salem. A whooping amount of 8 crore rupees was used for the construction of the cricket ground. 

The ground was built on behalf of Salem Cricket Foundation. The inauguration ceremony which took place at 9 am today was graced by presence of CM Edappadi Palaniswami. 

Cricketer Rahul Dravid, TN Cricket Association head Rupa Gurunath and BCCI former head Srinivasan attended the inauguration. 

After the inauguration, Edappadi and Rahul Dravid were seen having some fun cricket moments on the ground. Edappadi took over the batting while Rahul was seen bowling.  

Rahul Dravid expressed his happiness over the newly constructed cricket ground in Salem. He said that he believes many desiring cricketers will emerge in the future from small districts and villages in India.  

In the inauguration ceremony, Edappadi Palaniswami said "Youngsters should utilize this new cricket ground in all best ways possible. I want them to utilize the ground in a way that it will soon be recognized in the International level." He further added that, to lead a healthy life people should indulge themselves in sports-related activities.
