The decision was taken at a high-level meeting conducted by TNPSC authorities at the Commission’s office headquarters. A few days ago, the Commission had announced that Aadhaar proof would be made mandatory to stop impersonation.
On the fresh reforms, TNPSC Secretary K Nanthakumar said examination timings will change and candidates would have to be present at the centres an hour in advance. “Those coming in five minutes late will not be allowed to take the test,” he said, adding, “Candidates will be allowed 15 minutes grace time to fill particulars in answer sheets.”
Stating that in the future, candidates should answer all questions in the manner of objective type exams, the TNPSC official said all sheets will be kept in a sealed cover. “In addition, all covers will have the examiner’s fingerprints,” he said. Claiming that new technology will be introduced during sheets’ transportation, Nanthakumar said, “The vehicles will be monitored by Global Positioning System (GPS) and will be fitted with CCTV cameras.”
He said the Commission will also launch a special website where candidates could interact and share information with authorities, who will act according to feedback. Earlier, the TNPSC had said that during online registration, it will allow candidates only to choose districts while examination centres will be allocated by authorities. Similarly, the list of selected candidates will also be uploaded on the TNPSC website for public viewing.
