After tiff with worker, mob ransacks Tasmac bar in Kovai
Five staff members of a Tasmac bar have been injured seriously in an attack by a group of men here.

According to police, an unidentified man, who came to consume liquor in the shop on Sunday night, had picked up a quarrel with the staff in a drunken mood. Then, the staff had reportedly assaulted him for creating ruckus and causing disturbance to public.
“He then left the bar vowing revenge and returned in a short while accompanied by a group of men in an auto. They smashed the chairs, tables, fridge, television and other properties in the bar with logs. The staff, who tried to prevent them also, came under severe attack,” the police said.
Shocked on seeing the violence, others who were consuming liquor in the bar, fled the scene out of fear. In the attack, the five staff members, identified as Ayyanar (29), Rohit (28), Kovil Pillai (55), Thangasamy (46) and Vinod (22) were injured.
The public came to their rescue and sent the injured persons to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) for treatment by 108 ambulance. On receiving information, the Thudiyalur police rushed to the spot and heldinquiries.
The police are scanning the images recorded on the CCTV camera fixed in the locality to nab the culprit. Following the incident, the Tasmac shop remained closed on Monday leaving the tipplers, who turned up to consume liqour,disappointed.
A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
