16-year-old girl given spiked drink, gangraped, Class 11 student held
In a shocking incident, a 16-year-old girl was gangraped by three persons, including her boy friend, after giving her soft drinks mixed with liqour in Krishnagiri district.

Police have arrested the victim’s boy friend, who is also studying for Class 11 with her in a school at Thimmachathiram village nearVeppanapalli.
The accused and the girl were said to be in love over the last one year. On February 22, they were engaged in a conversation at Veppanapalli bus stop.
“Then, V Raja (26) and C Manju alias Manjunath (22), who were friends to the boy, came there and gave a bottle of soft drink to the victim. The unsuspecting girl consumed it and slipped into a state of semi-consciousness,” the police said.
The trio then took the girl to an isolated spot and raped her by taking turns. “The victim, who gained conscious after a while, escaped from their clutches and reached home. She also informed her mother, who then filed a complaint with the Krishnagiri All Women’s Police Station (AWPS),” the police said.
After an inquiry, the police arrested the plus one student, while a search is on for Raja and Manjunath. They were booked under Prevention of Children against Sexual Offence (Pocso) Act and other relevant sections including kidnap. Further investigations are on into the incident, which has sent shock waves among public.
