SRM IST signs tripartite MoU to promote Design Thinking

SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM IST), one of the top ranking universities in India, along with Intellect Design Arena Ltd, a global leader in FinTech which pioneered design thinking for cutting-edge products for banking and insurance and School of Design Thinking (SoDT) has committed to creating awareness in the society at large about design thinking as a human-centered approach, by entering into a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday to promote design thinking amongst the faculties and students of SRM IST.

SRM Institute of Science & Technology registrar N Sethuraman; SRM Institute of Science & Technology vice chancellor Sandeep Sancheti; chairman and managing director Intellect Design Arena Ltd Arun Jain and head and co-founder, School of Design Thinking Pvt Ltd Anbu Rathinavel graced the occasion.


The collaboration of SRM IST, Intellect and SoDT will help in creating ‘India’s first-of-its-kind full-fledged Design Center’ in an educational institute.


Intellect which has launched the 8012 FinTech Design Center - the world’s first design centre dedicated to financial technology, brings its expertise in building the centre in SRM IST to train, mentor faculties & students on design thinking and also to nurture their entrepreneurial mindset for start-up incubation.


School of Design Thinking has been credited with framing India’s first programme on ‘Design The Thinking’ tailor-made for the academics and offered from an industry. Its flagship programme aims not only to benefit the students in the long run but eventually acts as a self-development programme for the faculty members of college. Additionally, SoDT also conducts specific programsfor students.
