Responding to the pleas of affected farmers present in the monthly farmers grievances day meeting in the Collector’s office, he said that the electric fencing would ensure that wild animals do not intrude into the human habitations and damage standing crops, instances of which had of late increased.

Anticipating fodder shortage in the ensuing summer, farmers requested the district administration to provide fodder for livestock at 90 per cent subsidy. They also requested that a cold storage be set up in the district which produced increasing quantities of vegetables especially tomatoes.

The farmers who were present at the grievances meet were also irked at the low turnout of officials at the meeting and requested the Collector to ensure the presence of officials and authorities incharge of various portfolios as they claimed that the absence of the officials made them feel thattheir bona fide queries would not get the attention theydeserved.
