Sources close to Chief Minister said, “Sudhish expressed the intention of his party for Rajya Sabha seat and the Chief Minister informed him that his requests would be positively considered.”
Recently, DMDK Treasurer Premalatha Vijayakant expressed confidence in AIADMK that her party will get a Rajya Sabha seat and added that giving a seat to her party was discussed at the alliance talks during the Lok Sabha elections, held last year. Though Chief Minister did not commit to the demands of DMDK the expectation is still running high in the party. At a time when AIADMK seniors themselves are fighting hard to get a Rajya Sabha seat, DMDK is pushing hard to get a seat. The election to Rajya Sabha, which will be on March 26, will witness intense lobbying in AIADMK camp as TMC leader GK Vasan has also demanded a Rajya Sabha seat in AIADMK alliance.
In Tiruchy, Premalatha said that the party is hopeful of getting one Rajya Sabha seat allotted by the AIADMK as per alliance ethics. Premalatha said “We are hopeful and would decide the next course of action based on the response from AIADMK.”
