BJP state secretary Vanathi Srinivasan told reporters that the DMK president MK Stalin wanted Tamil Nadu to be a violent state with law and order issues till the next Assemblypolls in 2021.
“DMK is instigating the minorities and there are slogans raised portraying Pakistan in TN. The police should act against those trying to break public peace and there are also demonstrations and rallies that are conducted without police permission,” Vanathi noted.
In the state, the BJP unit had so far circulated more than 20 lakh pamphlets at doorsteps explaining the objective of the CAA. From March 20 to April 5, the BJP will conduct an outreach programme titled “ooruku selvom unamaiyai solvom.” The campaign will cover both urban and rural pockets and each district will be covered by a 30-member team and the BJP leaders will also reach out to the temple priests and head of mutts in TN, Vanathi said.
“The DMK is campaigning against CAA for political gains and has been spreading falsehood against the BJP,” former union minister Pon Radhakrishnan after offering prayers at Kancheepuram Kamakshi Amman temple told reporters here. There are vested interests like DMK to split India and a section of people are periodically working to disturb the peace in Tamil Nadu and there are plans to create violence in the state, he said. BJP Tamil Nadu in-charge Muralidhar Rao was also present during the visit.
