The Delhi Police’s crime branch has been conducting raids at several places in the national capital and in Uttar Pradesh also since Wednesday. In two audio clips that emerged, put out on the Markaz YouTube channel, Maulana Saad said “a mosque is the best place to die” and insists that coronavirus can do no harm to his followers. In the second audio clip, he appealed to Tablighi members to follow the guidelines of the government and avoid large gatherings. “Undoubtedly, what is happening in the world is the result of humanity’s crimes.
We should remain at home, that is the only way to calm the wrath of God. One should follow the advice of doctors and cooperate with the administration. Wherever our members are, they should follow the administration’s orders,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Home Ministry has blacklisted and cancelled the visa of 960 foreigners, who were in India
on tourist visas, for their involvement in Tablighi Jamaat activities. “Along with this (blacklisting), their Indian visas have also been cancelled,” it said. The foreigners and the Indians who attended the congregation are believed to be carriers of the Corona virus to other parts of the country.
