8 Indonesians from Delhi meet found hiding in TN
Maduranthagam police on Monday arrested eight Indonesians who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat conference in New Delhi and had been at large to escape police radar.

Acting on a tip off that about a group of people who attended the Tablighi Jamaat conference in Delhi were staying in a house in Maduranthagam, the police on Monday morning conducted a search operation and found that the men were staying in a rented house on the outskirts of the village.
Police said that all eight men went missing as there was no flight service available for them to return to their country. The group had reportedly told police that they were planning to return to Indonesia after the lockdown gets over. The police have registered a case under six sections against the men and handed them over to the Health department officials for a check-up.
“The group reached Maduranthagam after attending the conferene and were staying in a house since March 21. They were moving freely before the lockdown and had even visited Chengalpattu town. Their passports and other travel documents have been seized,” a police official said.
As per the health department’s advice, the men have been quarantined in the same house in which they were staying and a policeman has been posted outside the house round the clock.
Earlier on Sunday, ten Malaysian nationals who tried to fly back to their country in a vspecial flight hiding the fact that they participated at the Tablighi Jamaat conference in Delhi were detained at the Chennai airport by immigration officials.
