Milk vendor Raman of Chittoor found one of his two cows panicked after he found unusual colour on its body with a distended stomach. The bovine could not eat and also struggled to breathe.

As the nearby government vet clinic failed to provide relief, Raman took his cow to the government clinic on Old Bengaluru Road where Dr Ravi Sankar, who earlier saved five pups from the womb of its mother killed in an accident, found that there was a blockage in the wind pipe. During the subsequent treatment, Dr Ravi pulled out a plastic sack with 1.5 kg rice out of the cow’s stomach physically.

“The entire operation took one hour and the animal became normal after the treatment,” Dr Ravi Sankar told DT Next.
