South, west districts to get light to moderate rain in next 24 hrs
Some of the districts in south and western parts of Tamil Nadu are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall for the next 24 hours, while the sky condition in the city will remain cloudy, said officials from Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai.

“Due to the southwest monsoon, a few districts including The Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Theni, Dindigul, Kanniyakumari and Tenkasi will experience light to moderate rainfall for the next 24 hours. As far as Chennai is considered, the sky condition is likely to be clear in the morning and cloudy in the evening for the next two days,” said N Puviarasan, director, Regional Meteorological Centre on Sunday.
The official added that the maximum and minimum temperatures for the next 48 hours would be around 39 degree Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius respectively.
On Sunday, the maximum temperature in the city increased, with weather stations in Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam recording 39.7 degrees Celsius and 40.1 degrees Celsius respectively. The minimum temperatures were 29.5 degrees Celsius and 28.6 degrees Celsius at Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam respectively.
