Tamil Nadu's Covid-19 count breaches 48,000-mark with 1,515 fresh cases
The government also said 49 Covid patients lost their lives taking the death toll to 528.

Tamil Nadu on Tuesday reported 1,515 cases of fresh coronavirus infections, taking the total tally to 48,019, the state Health Department said.
Chennai saw the highest number of COVID-19 infections at 919 taking the total tally to 34,245 and is followed by Chengalpattu (3,108), Tiruvallur (1,945), Kancheepuram (803), Thiruvannamalai (768) and Cuddalore (568).
49 patients succumbed to coronavirus on Tuesday alone, increasing the state's death toll to 528.
The statement said 1,438 patients were discharged from various hospitals, taking the total to 26,782. The total number of active cases in Tamil Nadu now stands at 20,706.
A total of 19,242 samples were tested over the past 24 hours, which now total over 7.48 lakh.
The number of infected children in the age group 0-12 went up to 2,444.
