Speaking to reporters at Orathanadu in Thanjavur on Friday, the TNCC chief said, the state government failed to pay heed to the suggestions of the opposition parties and as a result, they struggle a lot to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the government is inactive and inefficient, over three lakh people moved from Chennai in the past few days, he said.

Stating that the Centre had failed to provide proper support to the migrant laborers, the TNCC president said, the government should have given at least Rs 7,500 per family. But they provided only 20 kg rice and a cash of Rs 1,000 which is inadequate.

Meanwhile, he also blamed that the Indo-China conflict has been taking place for the past three months and Rahul Gandhi had already alerted the issue, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi failed to pay heed. The Prime Minister had invited the opposition leaders for a discussion on the issue, he said and added that the government should release a white paper on the attacks.
