Rs 450 cr allotted for govt buildings in 4 new districts

The state issued a series of Government Orders (GOs) sanctioning more than Rs 450 crore to construct important government buildings for four newly formed districts for the year 2020-21.

After the formation of new districts, major focus is on construction of Collectorate campus for all the districts. For Chengalpattu district, the state government had allotted Rs 119.21 crore for the year 2020-21.

The state had also allotted Rs 126.36 crore and Rs 133.94 crore for construction of Collectorate and other associated buildings in Chengalpattu in 2021-22 and 2022-23, respectively.

As far as Kallakurichi district is concerned, the state had allotted Rs 104.44 crore for construction of Collectorate and other buildings for the year 2020-21. Rs 110.675 crore and Rs 117.32 crore towards construction of government buildings in Kallakurichi district for 2021-22 and 2022-23, respectively too were allotted. For Tirupattur district, Rs 109.71 crore towards construction of Collectorate and other government offices, for the year 2020-21 was allotted. Rs 116.29 crore and Rs 123.27 crore for 2021-22 and 2022-23, respectively were sanctioned.

To Ranipet district, the state had allotted Rs 118.40 crore for Collectorate and other government offices for 2020-21. Rs 125.51 crore was sanctioned for 2021-22. Sources in the Secretariat said that GOs on allocating funds to other two districts will be issued soon.
