Responding to the Minister’s allegation that Stalin was claiming credit by issuing statement a day or hours before the CM makes announcements on public welfare issues, Periasamy said the government was duty bound to welcome any person who comes forward to help during the pandemic. “Instead of welcoming Ondrinaivom Vaa campaign of the Leader of Opposition, this atrocious government insulted it because neither the CM nor Minister Udhayakumar bothers about serving the people.”
That the Minister, who is a member of the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), was unfit for his job was evident from him insulting the suggestions and assistance offered by the leader of the Opposition party, Periasamy, remarked.
The CMm who heads the SD, and the Minister who is a member of it have failed miserably, Periasamy said, referring to the spike in coronavirus positive cases. The state of affairs in the SDMA member’s native district was such that an exclusive lockdown had to be imposed there.
Citing the sharp rise in coronavirus spread in state from 23,495 positive cases and 184 deaths on June 1 to 90,167 and 1,201 on June 30, respectively, the DMK leader said the Minister does not deserve to speak about Stalin.
