Stalin: Don’t stop with a few arrests, book all
DMK president MK Stalin on Thursday cautioned the state not to stop with the ‘hogwash’ arrest of a few cops in Sathankulam double murder case. Stalin also asked the government to name all persons involved in the FIR and arrest them for the custodial murder.

Welcoming the revision of FIR and arrest of a few policemen allegedly involved in the murder of Jayaraj and Bennix following the intervention of the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, Stalin said the names of everyone responsible for the death of the father and son should be included in the FIR and arrested immediately.
“A few should not be arrested for the sake of it. This should not end up as a hogwash arrest. Court will not permit the dilution of the case,” Stalin said, in a statement.
“I point this out because government had attempted to cover up the incident from the beginning. Chief Minister had covered up the crime in his statement issued a day after their death. The CM had unilaterally passed a verdict that Bennix died due to respiratory distress and Jayaraj due to illness,” he reasoned, also citing the statements of government advocate before Madurai Bench and Minister Kadambur Raju. Remarking that the state should not consider its job done and therefore conduct a fair probe in strict accordance with legal procedures Stalin said people, traders and political parties were and would be watching every move in the case. He also said the state should not attempt to save anyone and everyone involved should be arrested. Stalin claimed that some member of Friends of Police were also involved. He also urged the state to provide security to magistrate Bharathidasan and constable Revathi.
