CM launches Aavin’s herbal buttermilk
In a bid to boost immunity of general public when COVID-19 is spreading fast in the state, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Tuesday launched five different Aavin products, including herbal buttermilk.

The buttermilk contains a mix of herbal products such as ginger, pepper, lemon, tulasi, salt, coriander leaves, cumin and so on. The herbal buttermilk will boost immunity,” said Palaniswami, after launching the new products.
The Chief Minister said that already there was good demand for the buttermilk produced by Aavin among the public and at this time of COVID-19 pandemic, the herbal buttermilk would be of great help.
Other Aavin products, launched by the Chief Minister, were chocolate and mango lassi, ultra-high temperature (UHT) milk and tea mate. “Aavin is producing ordinary and probiotic lassi. Now, two more flavours have been added to the probiotic kitty. The 200 ml bottles are sold at Rs 23 per unit,” said the Chief Minister.
He also said that for the convenience of working women, Aavin had launched UHT milk which could be preserved for a long time. The UHT milk could be stored in room temperature it would not expire for 90 days. The milk contained 4.5 per cent fat and 8.5 per cent protein and a sachet of 500 ml was sold at Rs 30.
For commercial purpose, Aavin had launched a new milk variety called ‘Tea mate’. The milk contained 6.5 per cent fat and 9 per cent protein and a litre was sold at Rs 60. “Since it is high in fat content it can be used in hotels and tea shops to make more cups of teas,” said the Chief Minister.
