No leave on Saturdays for govt employees, govt offices to function with 50 per cent work force: TN Govt

The government employees can no longer avail leave on Saturdays. The government has made 'Saturday' - a mandatory working day.

On Monday, the Government of Tamil Nadu has announced certain changes in the functioning of government jobs. The government employees can no longer avail leave on Saturdays. The government has made Saturday - a mandatory working day.

The state government has also allowed the government offices to function with 50% employees. This move comes after the set back the country has been facing and pending works piled up due to the Covid-19 lockdown.  

This order has been imposed by Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, Hans Raj Verma. 

As per the new order, the government employees are asked to enter the office premises before 10.30 am everyday. The arrival and work report of the employees will be closely monitored by the state government.
