The Government of Tamil Nadu has approved BCG vaccine for Covid infected adults over 60 years of age. This vaccine is said to be effective in preventing death among elders.
Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami has nodded "Yes" to begin BCG vaccine trials in the state for adults over the age of 60.
In India, BCG vaccine is used among children who are affected by Tuberculosis. In children, the vaccine is said to prevent health complications that would arise due to TB.
According to the recent studies that were conducted regarding Covid-19, the BCG vaccine helps in reducing the risk of death from coronavirus,
