Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Sengottaiyan said that schools will be reopened after taking the views of parents and in concurrence with Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami by taking into account the prevailing COVID-19 situation.
“The Class 10 results will be declared either in first or second week of August,” he said after laying the foundation stone for 17 new infrastructure development projects, including new roads and building of check dams in seven panchayats coming under Gobichettipalayam Assembly constituency at a cost of Rs 2.74 crore.
“For students, who have expressed willingness to write the Class 12 examinations, the exam will be held on July 27. Even other students who missed the exam due to COVID-19 can also write the exam if they are interested. The results will then be declared by this month’s end. Students can receive their Class 12 marks statement either from the school or from the website. Also results for Class 11 exam will be released by this month end,” he added.
Stating that newly built school buildings were being equipped with differently-abled friendly toilets and other basic amenities required for them, the Minister said that they will be similar to facilities being provided for differently abled persons at the time of polls.
Regarding distribution of books, Sengottaiyan said that views of parents from Class 1 to 9 were being solicited.
Meanwhile, the much-antipated totalling and revaluation of the answer scripts process for the Class 12 State Board students will begin from Friday. A government order, released from the Revenue and Disaster Management Department on Wednesday night said that it has permitted the students to come to schools from July 24 to July 30 for getting provisional mark certificates and for applying for a scanned copy of their answer sheets and re-totalling and revaluation of answer scripts.
