Stalin added that the DMK would oppose the New Education Policy being indirectly imposed unilaterally by the Centre during the lockdown period without respecting democracy, constitution, Parliament and opposition parties.
Reminding the ruling AIADMK that it bears the name of former chief minister and Dravidian icon CN Annadurai in its name, Stalin asked the government not to be silent on the NEP which proposes trilingual policy. The State government should reject the policy, he said, adding that it would be an insult to Anna if it keeps mum on the new policy.
Asking the regime not to betray the students and people of the State fearing the BJP-led Centre, the DMK president, speaking during a discussion organised by party and moderated by Thoothukudi MP K Kanimozhi, said the DMK would oppose the NEP.
Stalin, who is also the Leader of Opposition, alleged that the NEP would only create a country without youth who are the strength of the nation.
