A Chennai-based activist P Senthil Kumar in a complaint sent to the Centre has alleged that the IAS officer owned disproportionate assets as property, which was a gross violation of codes defined for a public servant.

In his complaint, Senthil Kumar alleged that the IAS officer has accumulated wealth disproportionate to her income. The annual earning details disclosed by the woman IAS officer and assets owned by her were not matching. The complaint also listed out six properties owned by the health secretary along with her husband, a serving IPS officer.

When contacted multiple sources in secretariat said that the nature of the complaint looked very personal.

The complaint copy was just a forward by the Centre and now the Chief Secretary being the administrative head of the state should take necessary action.

“It’s a common phenomenon that happens to government officers ahead of elections. Further, officers who enjoy publicity pay a price,” an official said.

Informed sources in the Secretariat said that the complaint against Beela Rajesh, the present commissioner of revenue administration, would be shelved.
