BJP president L Murugan in a statement on Tuesday blamed the AIADMK government for not allowing the aspiring students to learn Hindi or other regional languages. When the Centre’s NEP allows students to learn other languages like Hindi, Telegu, Malayalam and Kannada, why the state should barricade it.

The situation has changed from 1960 to 2020, so many changes have occurred, and the NEP is promising with an overall objective of strengthening the system across the country. The NEP could not be adjusted to meet the criteria of states, it is designed for the welfare of the students, he said. Parents, students and school authorities are ready to accept the new education policy, but the state government is not accepting the policy giving linguistic reasons.
