Kovai Collector recovers from COVID, gets ‘patriotic’ welcome on return
Collector K Rajamani, who was back in action after recovering from COVID-19 on Monday, was in for total surprise as a government school teacher turned up expressing his desire to join the armed forces amidst rising tension with China.

C Arasu, 52-years-old, who is working as a teacher in a panchayat union middle school at Kalampalayam in Coimbatore outskirts came in an army uniform to submit the petition in this regard. “Even if my desire is not fulfilled, my act of patriotism will help to drive a message among the youth to join the armed forces and serve the nation. I am even ready to sacrifice my life for the cause of our nation,” he told reporters. The Collector, on receiving his petition, also had a word of praise for his sense of patriotism. Earlier, he was coordinating the works over phone. Officials in the Collectorate welcomed the Collector by presenting a bouquet.
