Bhavanisagar dam opened for agricultural purposes

Due to the heavy rain the water level steadily rose to the level of 101 feet. Farmers requested opening of the dam for irrigation, to which government responded affirmatively.

The 105 feet containing Bhavanisagar dam was opened for agricultural purposes of Karur, Erode and Tirupur districts as recently announced by CM Edappadi K Palaniswamy.

Due to the heavy rain the water level steadily rose to the level of 101 feet. Farmers requested opening of the dam for irrigation, to which government responded affirmatively.

Water from the dam moves to Keezhbhavani aqueduct, from the opening in Kodiveri the water flows to Tadapalli-Arakkankottai aqueduct and from Kalingarayan opening the water reaches Kalingarayan aqueduct.

Ministers Sengottaiyan, KC Karupannan, Erode Collector Kathiravan opened the sluice of the dam.
