Online applications to 7 govt veterinary college institutes invited from Aug 24

Animal Husbandry Minister Udumalai Radhakrishnan on Saturday announced the opening of online admissions to seven government veterinary college institutes affiliated to Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (Tanuvas).

This year the state had opened three new veterinary colleges at Thalaivasal (Salem), Veerapandi (Theni) and Udumalai increasing 120 new veterinary college seats. Releasing the admission notification, the minister urged the Tanvuas vice-chancellor, Dr C Balachandran, to ensure that the end to end admissions are mostly handled through the online process, so that the tedious travel during the lockdown and the prevalence of corona can be minimised by the university administration. A statement issued by Tanuvas said that the online applications are invited from the candidates of Tamil Nadu for admission to undergraduate degree programmes including bachelor of veterinary science and animal husbandry, bachelor of food technology, BTech (Dairy) and BTech (Poultry) of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University for the academic year 2020-21 from 24.08.2020, 10.00 am to 28.09.2020, 6.00 pm.

For the candidates of non-resident Indians (NRIs), wards of NRS, NRI sponsored, foreign nationals’ category, online applications may also be submitted in the University website (www.tanuvas.ac.in and www2.tanuvas.ac.in). Candidate should fill, upload necessary documents, certificates, pay the prescribed fee and submit their online applications on or before the prescribed date at the university website. For online application,aspirants should visit Tanuvas website, the release added.

According to Tanuvas sources, veterinary science has emerged as a promising sector for the students with better job opportunities in government and private sector. More than 500 veterinary and affiliated science graduates will be absorbed for the academic year 2020 -21 and the placement cell at Madras Veterinary College has provided jobs for all the passing out graduates.
