Addressing the reporters after paying tributes to freedom fighter VOC Chidambaranar statue here, the minister said it is the BJP which fails to adhere to the alliance dharma. BJP is forcing the AIADMK to react. The BJP leaders should mind that they are in alliance with our party and they should mind what they are talking. We are not criticising the BJP, but if they do, we will strongly retaliate, Jayakumar said. Recently, H Raja and AIADMK ministers locked horns over the state denying permission for Vinayaga Chathurthi procession due to covid lockdown.

When asked to comment about the speculated release of ousted AIADMK leader V K Sasikala by the end of this month from Bengaluru jail, Jayakumar said that the AIADMK is not bothered about the release of AMMK leader V K Sasikala.

The release of Sasikala is an issue to be decided by the Bengaluru jail authorities and there is no political significance related to Sasikala in TN. Further, there is no space for Sasikala or her family members in our party, Jayakumar said.

To a query about the trending twitter pictures of actor Vijay dressed like late AIADMK founder MGR, Jayakumar downplayed the social media campaigns by Vijay fans. No one can replicate MGR. MGR is MGR and no one can imitate the AIADMK leader in TN.

Regarding the political plunge of superstar Rajnikanth and his recent congratulatory message to newly elected office bearers of DMK, Jayakumar said let the actor first float his party and then we can comment about it. Jayakumar also noted that the transfer of Ramanathapuram SP Varun Kumar was routine government affair and denied political rumours stating that the BJP was behind the transfer of district SP.
