PM Kisan scheme scam: Computer centre proprietor arrested in Vellore

As the investigation of PM Kisan scheme scam runs deep CB-CID arrests another person involved in the scam.

One Santhosh, aged 40, owns a computer centre in Thiruvalam of Vellore's Katpadi has been nabbed the CB-CID police for allegedly facilitating the scam using the Aadhaar details.

Also eight computer operators from the agricultural department were suspended with a list of 20 officials from the department were prepared in this investigation, from Vellore.

Vellore alone has 3,242 people misappropriated funds to the tune of Rs 1.23 crores with 70 lakhs retrieved from the accounts.

This rampant scam came to light with the number of beneficiaries' data discrepancies and money credited for more than installments in the accounts of fake beneficiaries.

The scheme was launched to ensure farmers receive Rs 2,000 financial help from the central government tri-annually.
