Cancer care facility at Thoothukudi GH to open on Tuesday
The cancer treatment facility is all set for inauguration in Thoothukudi Government Medical College Hospital and Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami will unveil the facility during his visit on September 22.

The Chief Minister will arrive in Thoothukudi on Tuesday to review measures taken by the district administration to control COVID. “During the course of the visit he will dedicate a series of development projects to people of the district,” Minister for Information and Publicity Kdambur C. Raju said on Saturday.
After convening a meeting with officials from various departments in Thoothukudi to review preparedness ahead of the CM’s scheduled visit, Raju told reporters that many development projects including super critical thermal power project, which is underway at Udangudi, and the much awaited petroleum refinery plant project at an estimated cost of Rs 50,000 crore, would boost employment. To keep drinking water crisis at bay, he said a combined scheme to cater to the basic needs of people in 240 habitations in parts of Ottapidaram, Kayathar, Kovilpatti, Vilathikulam and Pudur unions is in progress. The scheme is nearing completion and the Chief Minister is expected to inspect the project.
