“The ruling AIADMK is the only party respecting the alliance principle and many allies of main opposition DMK are willing to join the AIADMK-led combine ahead of the Assembly elections,” Minister for Information and Publicity Kadambur C Raju said on Sunday.

Speaking to reporters at Kovilpatti in Thoothukudi district, he said: “Edappadi K Palaniswami was unanimously declared as the chief ministerial candidate of AIADMK and no difference of opinion existed. He also stated that AIADMK would continue to lead the alliance into the next election.

Referring to cine director Bharathiraja’s statement seeking the intervention of state government and Censor Board to end obscene scenes in movies, he said ,though Censor board comes under the purview of the Centre, the state government will stress both to fulfil the director’s demand. He also said the Chief Minister would decide on setting up Music University in memory of the late SP Balasubrahmanyam, if the demand was represented.

On opening theatres, he said the Chief Minister would convene meetings with the medical team and high-level monitoring committee before taking any decision.
