Mastermind of Kovai murder surrenders
A prime accused wanted in connection with the murder of an elderly woman in Coimbatore surrendered before a court in Chennai on Wednesday.

While the special teams of police were camping in Chennai to nab Thilak (40), he, however, managed to give them a slip and surrendered before the court in Saidapet.
He along with his two sisters Latha alias Latha Rani (47) and Mala alias Revathi Rani (43) of Kempatti Colony and three other friends Manojkumar, Selvam and Sathyaseelan murdered Dhanalakshmi, (62) with cyanide-laced ‘mysurpa’ to loot over 80 sovereigns of gold jewels and Rs 3 lakhs on Sept. 30.
Police managed to nab all the accused on Tuesday except Thilak and seized about 70 sovereigns of gold jewels. Police are likely to take Thilak into custody for further inquiries.
