A division bench comprising Justice R Subbiah and Justice R Saravanan before whom the plea came on Thursday directed the counsels appearing on either side to conclude their arguments within allotted time.
The single judge had rejected Deepa’s plea to injunct the release of Thalaivi, a biopic being directed by AL Vijay and produced by Hyderabad-based Vishnu Vardhan Induri, with Kangana Ranaut playing the lead role and the web series “Queen” produced by Gowtham Vasudev Menon.
Deepa in her appeal against the single judge’s order had claimed that on witnessing the web serial she was “shocked” to know that Menon had included several scenes to portray her aunt late Jayalalithaa in bad light and also that of her grandmother and father.
She further contended that in the guise of alleged fiction, Menon had copied in verbatim the entire private life events of her aunt on citing the similarities present in the web serial and that of the private life events of her aunt.
