This comes in response to a query on a government school student from Theni scoring 664 out of 720 marks to grab the 1823rd rank at the national level after undergoing private coaching in Namakkal in his second attempt.
In a remarkable achievement, the student, Jeevithkumar, is also at the top of the list of students from government schools across the country, who had written NEET this year, while he managed to score only 193 marks in his first attempt in 2019. Speaking to the media in Erode after inaugurating various projects and distribution of welfare aid to beneficiaries, the Minister said that a Tamil Nadu student has emerged a topper at the India level among government school students. “India is looking with awe at the standard of education being imparted in TN. Almost 174 out of 180 questions for NEET were asked from the state syllabus revamped after 12 years. Students writing NEET were being trained through e-box,” the Minister added. Due to the government efforts, over 300 students of government schools may enter medical colleges through 7.5% reservation. On the reopening of schools, Sengottaiyan said they may not be opened now.
