As measure to mollify DMK chief MK Stalin and for him to call off protests at Raj Bhawan on 24th, Governor Banwarilal purohit tried to explain his position.

In the letter he wrote that he would need three to four weeks to take a decision on 7.5 percent reservation for government school students.

He also said that he informed the same to ministers who had earlier met him for the same reason.

Parties unanimously passed the bill of a horizontal reservation for government school students in medical studies and sent to Governor for consent which is not yet finalised.

Leaders of all parties condemned the Governor, PMK leader Ramadoss said that he delays the decision on purpose.

DMK and AIADMK which was forever at loggerheads were on the same page in this issue, even to the point of Leader of Opposition MK Stalin extending a hand of support from his party if AIADMK protests and pressurises the Governor to budge.
