Governor Banwarilal Purohit is facing a barrage of condemnation from all the parties for seeking three to four more weeks to decide on giving assent to 7.5 percent reservation in medical studies for government school students.

Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) Chief KS Alagiri is the latest to reproach Governor seeking more time.

He said that constitution has clearly demarcated Governor's powers, policy decisions will only be the ministers' call and Governor only needs to assent, there is little scope for Governor's inclinations.

In his statement Alagiri also mentioned that some sources have alleged that Governor said to the ministers in their meeting to approve 10 pc economically weaker section (EWS) reservation in exchange of his assent for 7.5 pc reservation, this Alagiri said will bury social justice values.

He warned of repercussions if Governor puts this issue in the backburner anymore, Alagiri extended his condemnation to the ruling AIADMK for its lackadaisical approach towards Governor Purohit.

Meanwhile, Banwarilal Purohit's letter seeking to pacify DMK agitated the party instead to a more vigorous stance against him. Stalin said protests at Raj Bhawan will happen as planned on 24th October and he won't withdraw it.
