Tamil Nadu logs 3,057 new cases

The number of deaths per day continued to decline. The day recorded 33 more deaths, including 13 in private and 20 in government hospitals. The total number of deaths State touched 10,858.

 Chennai recorded 844 fresh cases and Coimbatore logged 280. Among other districts, 186 cases were reported in Chengalpattu, 185 in Salem and 168 in Tiruvallur.

 As many as 4,262 more people were discharged from several hospitals across the State, taking the total number of recoveries to 6,59,432. The number of active cases in TN stands at 32,960.

 A total of 81,472 samples were tested in past 24 hours, and about 80,051 persons were tested during the same period on Friday across 198 testing centres in Tamil Nadu.
