The software will also be accessed through mobile applications compatible with both Android and Apple devices. A senior TNPSC official told DT Next that the present manual grievance redressal mechanism will be totally replaced with automatic features for the users.
“Various components, including automated telephone Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) system, email GRC system and postal and communication tracker will be used to deal with candidates and public queries,” he said.
Stating that the new system will transfer the information sought by the candidates to the sections concerned electronically, the official said a separate ID number will be given to registered candidates and information seekers to track the reply.
Pointing out that user-friendly dropdown menus will be provided in the system, he said frequently asked grievances sought by the registered candidates would be responded to immediately by using an automated reply system using this software application.
“In addition, the present postal, which is at present called ‘Tappal,’ system will be modified as ‘Tappal tracking software application,” he said and added, “accordingly, the details of receipt, action taken and reply sent within the stipulated time limit will be monitored through the dashboard of the software application.”
The official said working with the new system that provides flexibility in data models, workflows, dashboards, reporting and security allows the TNPSC to keep pace with rapid change in regulatory demands now and in the future.
“We will be hiring an IT company after inviting tenders,” he said adding the company would also train the staff of TNPSC in software coding so that they could do further customisation of the system themselves from time to time and therefore, the source codes will be with the Commission.
