Referring to the heart-wrenching details in the CBI charge sheet in Jeyaraj-Bennix murder case, Stalin recalled the Chief Minister’s earlier statement attributing the father-son duo’s death to illness and accused the CM who holds Home portfolio of deliberately covering up the murder committed by a few cops in Sathankulam police station.
Also recalling the statement of state Law Minister CVe Shanmugham on the issue, the DMK president said the honest and law abiding cops in the department had lost respect and “black sheep” in the department had gained an upper hand as a result of the CM and Law Minister’s cover up of the double murder in Sathankulam.
Claiming that the goodwill of the state police has hit the nadir and people have lost faith in police in the corrupt Palaniswami regime, Stalin said the state police department has been put to shame by the atrocities of AIADMK regime in which postings are decided by currency notes, transfers done at Minister’s behest, key postings are given to officers facing departmental action and facing court cases and officers involved in sexually harassing woman SP are retained in the department.
“Will the CM tender an apology to the state people for covering up murder and spoiling the reputation of the state police to protect a few in Sathankulam police station?” Stalin wondered.
Remarking that the DMK had demanded CBI probe in the issue because it never had faith in the inquiry ordered by Palaniswami, the DMK chief said the chilling details of the case have exposed that the inquiries ordered by the Chief Minister would bury the mysteries in quick sand, as was done in the Kodanadu murder cases.
Attributing the surfacing of concealed truth to the constructive work of High Court judges in the case, Stalin said the CBI charge sheet has confirmed that the allegations leveled against the AIADMK regime by the DMK were true.
Stalin also added that the CM should understand at least now that the DMK stands by truth and not just for politics.
