Stalin’s virtual poll tour Tamizhagam Meetpom to begin from Nov 1
DMK president MK Stalin will undertake a statewide virtual tour in view of the ensuing Assembly elections from November 1. An announcement made by the party high command on Thursday said that Stalin will take part in virtual public meetings titled “Tamizhagam Meetpom” (Rescue Tamil Nadu) from next week.

According to the announcement, the DMK president will address special public meetings in eight districts through video calls in the first stage of the tour. To begin with, Stalin will address the special public meeting in Erode on November 1, followed by Pudukkottai, Virudhunagar, Thoothukudi, Vellore, Nilgiris, Madurai and Villupuram districts. The first stage of the tour will be wound up by November 10. The virtual special public meetings would be modeled on the mupperum vizha celebrations organised through video calls from here.
Dharmapuri party unit bifurcated
Meanwhile, the principal opposition party furthered its reorganisation plan by bifurcating its Dharmapuri district unit. Dharmapuri district has been divided into Dharmapuri East and West districts with Dharmapuri, Pappireddypatti and Harur (reserve) Assembly seats falling under the eastern district of DMK. Palacode and Pennagaram would constitute Dharmapuri west district, which would be headed by party legislator PNP Inbasekaran. Another legislator P Subramani will be in charge of the Dharmapuri east party district. DMK general secretary Duraimurugan has also appointed a committee each for the two party districts.
