Active cases in State down to 3 per cent of all reported cases
With fresh cases remaining considerably lower than the number of persons discharged after treatment in the recent weeks, less than three per cent of the reported cases of COVID-19 are active in Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, the total number of samples tested crossed one crore.

As on Sunday, the State only has 20,994 active cases, including 2,504 cases that were added to the tally during the day. In all, Tamil Nadu reported 7,27,026 cases, of which 6,94,880 persons were cured and discharged – including 3,644 on Sunday.
The State added 30 deaths to the toll, of whom 28 had various comorbid conditions, said the bulletin issued by Health Department. Eleven of the deaths were notified in Chennai, while its neighbouring district Kancheepuram added five. Chengalpattu, Nagapattinam, Tenkasi and Vellore notified two each, while Cuddalore, Karur, Namakkal, Thanjavur, Tiruchy and Villupuram added one each. Twenty-five districts did not notify any deaths.
Tamil Nadu crossed another milestone on Sunday when the total number of samples tested went beyond one crore to 1,00,29,222.
