The interaction on preparedness of upcoming Assembly polls was organised at Pudukkottai and it was chaired by AICC general secretary Sanjay Dutt. Initially, each functionary was allotted just two minutes to air their grievances and put forth their suggestions and everyone spoke, expressing dissatisfaction over the time allotment. Still, many functionaries came out with charges stating that they were not getting even least respect from members of the alliance partner DMK.

“Though more number of seats were won by Congress in the civcic polls, the DMK sidelined Congress men in several posts across the district,” said one of the functionaries. The functionaries told Sanjay Dutt that they would not work with DMK men if they failed to treat Congressmen with respect.

Following this, leaders on the stage asked the functionaries to stop such complaints as the leader in-charge of Tamil Nadu has made note of it.

Still, the functionaries asked Sanjay Dutt to personally ensure that such disputes did not crop up again. Making such demands, they raised slogans and trooped towards the dais. When the leaders attempted to calm them down, they went on arguing. Then, Sanjay Dutt stood up and pacified the agitating Congressmen. He told them to be calm as the alliance with the DMK is strong and the similar problems would never occur. Subsequently, the meeting continued.
