Kanimozhi dares BJP to make Tamil the national language

DMK women wing secretary and Thoothukudi MP Kanimozhi launched salvos against BJP's planned Vel Yatra.

BJP playing the religious card, planned Vel Yatra for a month from November 6 to December 6 in condemnation against the obscene remarks against Lord Muruga by those aligning with Periyarist ideology. Though DMK distanced itself from remarks, but BJP and other right-wing outfits have extended their attacks against the Dravidian party.

Fearing BJP's Vel Yatra will polarise the Tamil Nadu population and distract them to non-issues, left aligning parties and Dravidian outfits asked the government to deny permission to Yatra.
