No interference in police dept: Puducherry CM Narayanasamy
Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Saturday said that there will be no government intervention into the functioning of the police department and the police are being allowed to function freely.

Talking to news persons after a high level meeting with the police officials here,the Chief Minister said the rowdies in prison are getting mobile phones and are threatening business people and indulging in extortion of money.Those who refuse to part with money are being killed. Police were asked to put an end to this menace.
Police will be a ‘friend’ to the people and also their protector,chief minster said adding that in some murder cases adequate evidences could not be obtained immediately and the arrest of the culpriuts in such cases will be delayed.
He also pointed out that the Muthialpet and Nellithoppe murder cases which were kept pending for several years were resolved after he came to power.
